Medikaded - 40 Degrees
After playing in cover bands for years, Rob Ruff and Bob Mulhollen, discussed their common desire to create their own music in October 2004. Rob had written songs throughout his 30 years of playing guitar and keyboard. Singer/Lyricist, Jeremiah Marone, joined in August 2005. A drummer and a rhythm guitar made it complete. The band worked hard writing and recording over the next two years. Creative differences and family commitments had the drummer and rhythm guitarist going their own ways. The three remaining members started reworking the old material and writing new songs while looking for a new drummer. When Tyler Donaldson was added, the band became “Medikaded.” Still wanting to add some diversions to their sound, MaryAnn Aikins who had sung in groups most of her life and is the longtime girlfriend of Rob’s, started to tickle the keys.
Just as our first CD was ready to be released, Tyler informed us that circumstances in his life would be preventing him from being able to meet the needs of the band. After a long search, Doug Lohr joined our forces. Everyone likens Jeremiah’s voice to that of Chad Kroeger. Rob’s Pink Floyd influence eases its way into many songs. Add Bob’s versatile bass playing and just a subtle flare of the keys, and you have the experimental rock sound of Medikaded.
Medikaded has just released their first CD, Chronic Anxiety. Rob has financed a recording studio in his basement where the band members create and record some unique and astonishing music. We are ready for a record label to sign us on. We have started recording songs for our next two CD’s. With Rob’s endless creativity and talent, we never have a shortage of new, top quality material.
