The Drowning
Originally formed in 1991, The Drowning is one of
Pittsburgh’s most enduring original alternative rock/grunge bands. Their 1994
Release “Clear Native State” sold over 3,000 units. In July
of 2012 the band released their latest work “Every Hour
Wounds” to a sold-out 300-seat Hollywood Theater in Dormont, PA.
Their rich, intelligent, and environment-creating grunge rock attracts a
cross-generational audience. Reluctant to follow trends, this hard-hitting dark and
theatrical band delivers a powerful live show that captivates and transcends. For fans of this
band the cathartic experience is undeniable. The Drowning maintains a loyal fan base that
packs venues with appreciators of their original and cover music. In a local market saturated by tribute bands, The Drowning maintains a loyal following with an artistic and original intent making even cover songs their own.
